Re: re:Jeanette

I'll give you the verses. If you don't believe them, your problem is not with me anymore, it would mean you do not belive God!!

Ephesians 1:4
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will - "

Ephesians 1:11
In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him...

John 10 Read the whole chapter, but I'll write a few verses.

10:11 I am the good shepherd, the good sheperd lays down his life for the sheep.
10:14...I lay down my life for the sheep

Revelation 21:27
Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.

I suggest you study the bible. Not only ask somebody or your pastor a question and believe whatever they say, they're not perfect. The only way and place you can get the absolute truth from is from the bible. Read Romans, Ephesians, John, and you will understand, and hopefully believe, the purpose of Christ's death, and the reason why God sent him to earth. I mentioned the verse in Revelation because, and you will later (hopefully) understand, God had written the names of those who will be saved in the book of life, and those people are the ones Christ died for (his sheep) and those are the only ones who will enter heaven. Matthew says in chapter 7 that "narrow is the road that leads to life, and only a few find it". When you study the bible, you find that the doctrine that was taught by Christ and later his disciples was, although similar to what is preached nowadays, it was really meant for the chosen ones, which in the end will be the only ones who will be with God. God planned everything before he created anything. To say that God doesn't have a saying in most of our decisions and what we do with our life, is saying that God doesn't have control over those things. And if God doesn't have control over those things, then he wouldn't be God. He wouldn't be the sovereign almighty God that people claim He is. Of course, we, as humans, don't know who will be saved, so it's our responsibility to share the gospel with everyone, but the final saying is Christ's, not humans. Man, as a sinner, doesn't have the ability to save himself. Nor does Christ have the need to OBEY him and give salvation when the person wants it. The decision has been made by God and He is the one who will bring conviction to a person's heart, therefore the person acknowledging salvation and repenting.

John 15:16...you did not choose me, but I chose you...

After reading this you'll probably think it's all nonsense, but don't believe me, read the bible, it's all there. Accept that there is someone more powerful than you are. That may humble you to a level that all you'll be able to do is honor and praise God, not try to be like God.
