Re: Is it really a gallstone problem?

They are quick to want to yank out the gall bladder (or some offending organ).

The symptoms you describe are nothing like mine were. Mine typically came in the middle of the night (oh joy) and hurt under my ribcage, to the right, it also hurt into the back. Laying on my stomach, with my first right under the area made it feel batter. However, people are different, and different people will have different symptoms. Do you have a family history of gall stones? Every female in my family other than my little sister (9) has no gall bladder, those that left them in died of it (of course, they did not deal with it in any other way either).

Remember that almost everyone has gall stones, this does not cause a problem of itself. You have problems when one gets stuck in the gall duct, from having many stones. So having stones on your ultrasound doesn't mean you have an actual problem with your gall bladder, in case you didn't already know.
