things to keep on hand

i always immediately apply baking soda to any bite i get .

put a dab in hand and add a few drops water, paste onto the sting/ will immediately start drawing off toxin and decrease swelling ,itching etc.
i keep on hand pascalite clay this stuff is incredible!!
we have brown recluse and hobo spiders here enmasse in this state.
and the bites can be horrific/
i apply a dab of pascalite clay directly to the bites,
a couple times a day and then i swab a dot of tea tree oil and oil of oregano with olive oil on the area on bite and surrounding it.

it is probably too late to help you now..
but consider keeping those items in your *med supply *
