there is also the plastic retainer that molds to the shape of your teeth

its not perm. attached to you so you can cleanse afterwards if you are worried about it.
but what you have to put into you mouth has to be determined by your ortho.
sometimes you have to put in stretching plates and things like that or have to wear head gear at night.

i got braces and i only had to wear them for about a year and a half. it was the best thing i have ever done. i dont grind my teeth at night. my teeth are not wearing unevenly which leads to need to of partials in older ages.
