It could. I read on an earlier post that decay and plaque have a positive electrical charge so swishing some negatively charged water around your mouth should help. I have tooth trouble myself and can't afford a dentist, and I've found that EW helps with my problems. I'll still need a dentist eventually though - I'd like to go to Costa Rica and get them fixed if I can. I think Canadian dentists really gouge their patients. That's a lot of saving up I have to do yet though. I hope I can hang on.

Someone on an earlier post suggested an ionic toothbrush. It also has a negative charge.
