I wanted to know if there was a secret to getting flax powder (not seed) to gel with water. When I bought some (high lignan) flax powder from Omega it mixed really well with water and gelled up just like psyllium does. However when I tried to grind my own powder, the powder just sinks to the bottom in water. It doesn't mix.
I wondered if you knew why this was. Is it just a matter of grinding it finer?
