Enema Tips
Congrats!!!
No one should have their colon cut up, but that's how hospitals and doctors make their money so it's done over and over again without the patient ever knowing their other options. Sigh.
My naturopathic doctor was actually approached by two representatives from the AMA who asked him to stop selling his enema bucket setup that has a cool tip that makes it all quite comfortable. Talk about a conspiracy!!! But now we have the Internet and there is no way any group can suppress good information now! yippee! :)
Here are my tips on enemas:
A proper enema IMHO is done with an enema bucket or colema setup in order to flush the colon with as much water as possible. It should use a good surgical tubing with some kind of clamp to interrupt water flow as needed.
K-Y jelly is an awesome lubricator. Betadine is a good disinfectent for the tip, for the rest just a weak solution of bleach is enough.

Sea Salt is the basic enema. You should always add salt to soften the water. To this can be added:
Bentonite clay, chorophyll, acidopholis, and tons of other things for medical reasons, like 1/2 cup sesame oil for constipation. More details at the end of this post.
I like to lie on my back with my fanny raised in the beginning, with my feet on a wooden foot roller. It's amazing but rolling the feet good and hard will relax all the muscles and colon to allow better water retention. I also press down on my left side, low, near pelvis, to help water move UP the colon. I keep massaging abdomen counter-clockwise as water comes in, and sometimes the outer right thigh, which is a gallbladder point.
Afer taking in about a pint of water (I have to guess this now that I have a metal bucket) I roll over onto my right side to help the water move down the transverse (horizontal part) of the colon.
I release as needed and go right back to taking in more water until I've taken in at least a
quart or two.
It's also good, while retaining water, to squat down and keep massaging the abdomen.
Do not do an enema if you are suffering from diarrhea. DO take probiotics occasionally if you are doing an intense series of enemas, say, after every 7th one. There's no need to add acidophilus with every single enema.
Enema Solutions
The simplest solution is one teaspoon of
Sea Salt per
quart of water, filtered or distilled. You can increase the dose to one tablespoon to counter-act absorption of the fluids. For instance, if you find yourself needing to urinate more during your colema, adding more salt will ensure that the kidneys do not fill up with water.
Soothing Solutions:
Flaxseed tea
Buttermilk feeds the friendly bacteria
Liquid Chlorophyll – ½ cup per quart of water. Very soothing and oxygenating.
To Induce Peristalses and/or Cleanse:
Freshly squeezed lemon juice (rather harsh but cleansing)
Freshly squeezed garlic juice (milder, still cleansing and anti-biotic)
Coffee: stimulates the bowel and helps to reduce the bile level in the liver. Contains acids that will help remove mucous and cleanse the colon wall. If you are overly sensitive to caffeine or have adrenal issues, do not do use coffee. Only use coffee once a month at most.
½ cup of sesame or castor oil are very calming to the nervous system and are recommended after a series of frequent
colonics or colemas. Do not use if digestion is very weak.
Herbal Solutions:
Make an herbal tea and use it as a retention enema rather than drinking it. This delivers the herb directly to the colon for increased efficacy and decreased side-effects.
Bitter herbs:
Wormwood , gentian, yarrow, turmeric, golden seal, aloe, willow bark; aid in the release of bile, expel
parasites and reduce fevers.
Astringent herbs: comfrey root, slippery elm, bayberry bark, myrrh, aloe; tone the intestinal tissue and aid in prolapse and hemorrhoids.
Spicy herbs: red peppers, ginger, mustard seeds, cardamom, basil, oregano, marjoram, thyme, garlic, onion; stimulate circulation, aid digestion and eliminate gas.
Calming herbs: lavender, catnip, comfrey, valerian root, gotu kola; alleviate gas and are calming to the nervous system.
Eliminative Solution: for parasites, use equal parts garlic,
Wormwood and bayberry bark in a tea.
Nutritive Solution: for weak digestion/assimilation, prolonged illness, and deficient favorable bacteria, combine any of the following:
Fermented barley water
Tamari soy sauce
Broth of marrow, chicken
Sesame or olive oil.
