Re: Advice after cavitation diagnosis

"He said that cleaning the cavitation may well go into the sinus!!"....WOW...that sounds a bit frightening! I don't blame you for not jumping into such a surgery...

Just a few questions for you...what kind of doctors have you seen? Have you been to different kinds of specialists, including an oral & maxillofacial surgeon? Also...what kind of CT scan did you have? I think I may have mentioned before that the spiral/helical CT scans are supposed to show excellent detail. I have never had one myself, but am looking into it.

Is this a general dentist you are seeing? I am not sure I would feel comfortable having a general dentist operating "into the sinus." Don't mean to scare you, as I do not know your dentist's qualifications...but just proceed with caution as you would with any surgical procedure. I wish I could give you more helpful advice. For now, all I can say is, consider everything (the risks/benefits) VERY carefully. Also, do you have to have the Amalgams replaced right now? Could that wait?

I hope you can figure out the best course of action, and I wish you the best of luck. Keep us posted...
