Re: Acerola Cherries

Acerola cherries do provide vitamin C, but even more importantly, they are a good source of bioflavonoids that are excellent anti-oxidants and aid the vitamin C in enhancing the immune system. Owen got me started on the Sodium Ascorbate crystals from Bronson Laboratories several months ago and I can't imagine a better way to get that vitamin. Two days ago I was feeling like I was getting a cold and took 30,000 mg of sodium ascorbate that day. I also had at least 500 mg of Ascorbic acid from the mineral supplement my Naturopath has me take. By that evening I was feeling much better, the next day I was in less pain than usual (I have a chronic spinal problem). The only drawback was diarrhea since I went beyond my bowel tolerance. I am working my Vit. C dosage upward now and get the Acerola cherry in my superfood green drink.
(but now I want to try Gogi berries :)
