Re: Vitamin C neutralizing chlorine and comparison link
Here's a quote from one site about the Vitabath tablets, not all sites list the ingredients:
Vitabath Effervescent Vitamin C De-chlorination Tablets
Effervescent vitamin C de-chlorination tablets are comprised of ascorbic acid,
citric acid and sodium bicarbonate. This powerful formula is designed to neutralize chlorine and chloramines in hot tub or spas. As Vitabath dissolves, the vitamin C will become effervescent and begin to fizz. One Vitabath effervescent tablet is able to neutralize 1 ppm chlorine and chloramines in 100 gallons of water and completely eliminate the dry itchy skin caused by chlorine in your hot tub, bathwater or spas. Great for a Luxury Bath!

I am guessing that the
citric acid and the sodium bicarbonate do the fizzing part and aren't really necessary. I tried a bath yesterday and just ground up 1500 mg of ascorbic acid in my mortar and pestle. Felt great and no chlorine smell. I am going to see if I can get a sample of this bath water tested cheap somewhere for chlorine content.

google vitabath or vitashower for other prices
I also stumbled on a filter that uses Quartz crystalline to de-chlorinate, (The Crystal Ball) but it seems to not remove all chlorine whereas the C is supposed to neutralize all of it.
Here is some data from an independent tester comparing different types of filters:
