bowel blockage

My partner is suffering from a blocked bowel. She was diagnosed with cancer five years ago - and has fought against it with alternative medicine for that time. Last year, she suffered from a build up of fluid on her abdomen and received a number of drains (up to 6 litres in one go). A few weeks ago, she became constipated and very nauseous. The situation got worse to the point where even water is hard to keep down. Although she has only eaten a few mouthfuls of food in the last two weeks, she is vomitting large quantities of green bile. She has lost a great deal of weight, is dehydrated and is very tired and weak. In the last two weeks, she has been into hospital 3 times; x-rays and ultra-sound have both shown the blockage, but the Drs want to prescribe steroids as they believe the blockage is caused by swelling. Neither of us believe that - and we do not want to go down that route. Is there anyone out there who has combatted something similar? We are desperate for ideas? Please help. Tweet
