Harmless Herpes ???
twelve years ago I was diagnosed positive in both HSV-1 and HSV-2, I was told by my doctor that it wasn't a big deal to worry about. I've never taken any medications because I have never shown any symptoms. I started to have sex with a chic who later I married for ten years, have 3 kids and never any of us have shown any symptoms of the virus. Unfortunally my wife and I have separated for 8 months and in an attempt to come back, she told me that unfortunally she had recently caught up an infection from somebody, she went for a VDRL test and everything was ok but I told her to go for a HSV IGG test. She got the results and came up positive on HSV-1 and Negative on HSV-2 but this test was made just 5 days after she got the blisters.
I have read that an IGG test will not give results until after 18 days after the infection. I told her to wait a couple of more weeks and retested and came positive on HSV-2 this time. What this tells is that before she went out with this person she never had the virus. She never had the virus during all the time we have been together. I went my own for my test and came positive again on HSV-2 with 1.2 so I took the risk of having sex with her and after being together for 4 months I'm still not showing any symptoms but she gets outbrakes every month. I have had sex in the past with other 3 woman knowing I was positive and no one of them have ever had any outbrake or symptoms.
Is it posible that I carry a harmless type of herpes like a mutant of the virus that creates antibodies that protect me from having the desease or spreading it ?
I also have never in my life gotten chiken-pox and I'm 43 years old.
Am I a harmless carrier ?
