Those Drug companies (GlaxoSmithKline...maker of Valtrex) are in human trials right now for a vaccine that prevents people from getting herpes...there is no Conspiracy to keep people on meds. By releasing a vaccine this means they are losing potential customers...if there was a conspiracy. See for yourself:
It only seems effective in women thus far. They can't figure out why it does not work in men...but with half the sex innoculated against herpes pretty the other half wont be able to get it. It doesn't help gay men though but maybe they'll figure out why and be able to innoculate men too in the future.
There is also another Herpes prevention vaccine thats in human trials right now too that helps prevent outbreaks...
Vaccine are costly and to get them to market costs millions of dollars. Some vaccines end in failure when it comes to animal/human experiments even though the lab tests were quite good. They are very risky investments for drug companies. What we need to do is put together a company/foundation that helps to give out grants to scientists and brings vaccines to market. We take the risk. We are the bridge. We would make a deal with these scientists that we get licensing rights to that vaccine if it does make it to market thereby helping to spur other investments in other vaccines for other infections (like HIV). A kind of venture capital fund for viral infections. One lady in Canada did that for a meningitis bacteria vaccine cause her son died from it.
