Re: Advanced in Pregnancy w/herpes

well i would just have the c-section
check this chart out:

http://www.webmd.com/hw/being_pregnant/tn8165.asp

the difference is not that big from natural birth.
also you can have your tummy tucked a little bit when you are sewn back up.
it may be a decision i have to face in the future and i would chose c section because i couldnt live with myself if i harmed or killed my baby by being afraid of a little pain myself.

"A mother can infect her baby during delivery, often fatally. But if a woman had genital herpes before getting pregnant, or if she is first infected early in pregnancy, the chance that her baby will be infected is very low -- less than 1%. Women with genital herpes are examined carefully for any symptoms before giving birth. If sores or signs that an outbreak is coming show up at the time of delivery, the baby may be delivered by cesarean section (also called a C-section)."

"Unfortunately, when infants do contract neonatal herpes, the results can be tragic. About half of infants who are treated with antiviral medication escape permanent damage. But others may suffer serious neurological damage, mental retardation or death. It's fear of these terrible consequences, rather than the level of risk, that makes neonatal herpes a concern."
