Its different for everyone. It doesnt hurt me. Maybe a bit itchy and feels warm and if I apply anything to open sores then a bit of a sting but apart from that the herpes pysically isnt not a problem. Pain and discomfort wise Id much prefer to have an outbreak than a cold. For most people it is the emotional pain that you have to be strong to get over. In real terms it is nothing more than a skin erruption, is easliy managed and will not get in the way of a healthy sex life. Even though logically you may be able to see this, the hardest part is to really beleive it.
