Brain "leaking" - what alternative help is there?

My friend got a sudden headache, and it stayed.
The doc think he may have a slow leak on the brain.

he was told to stay still and calm... and not much else.
he did have an MRI today, and we'll get results soon enough.

But is there any alternative therapies, or explanations, for this leaking from the brain?
