Re: Chelating Problem? Or not?

Hi

Ideally you should detox your body naturally with high amounts of the full range of vitamins and minerals (except copper and iron). In addition eat a very healthy Diet consisting of animal protein with each and every meal....it's important to eat both red and not only white meat. The red has important amino acids, lots of zinc and B-vitamins. Eating vegetables and just a little fruit too if you haven't got a candida problem. All grain products reduce the uptake of zinc and so does of course sugar. If you suspect copper poisoning don't eat any nuts, soya, advocado, cocoa products such as chocolate, beans, lentils, seeds, whole grain and dark tea. Keep away from milk as these products increase copper absorption and reduce mercury detoxing.

Are you using a very good protocol for the DMSA? I suggest you buy Andy Cutler's book and do some serious reading. It could perhaps settle your mind and give you confidence as to what is happening. Perhaps you are using too high DMSA amounts. I know any chelation protocol mobilizes heavy metals and when you take the much needed breaks in the chelation rounds, the metals within a day or two enters back into cells, tissue and what not. This is why it's important to detox the body naturally first. If body tissue has high amounts of mercury, you could be mobilizing to much and not getting it out of your system effeciently enough. This can make you feel extremely sick. The body WILL actually detox by itself given high enough antioxidants and minerals to support it. Vitamin C, especially, mobilizes but does not chelate (attach to) metals. Since you might be experiencing trouble with vitamin C and the likes, you might have to go real low on supplements too.

The brain is a totally different matter. This will NOT detox by itself and after a long time of chelation rounds, you must begin with ALA and/or cilantro combined with DMSA. But that should only be done when you feel absolutely confindent that body metal stores are low, or brain levels could rise. I personally cannot use DMSA as I was sick both during and after chelation, no matter how small a dose I took. If your kidneys and liver are hurting, you should be cautious that this could be DMSA side-effects and not the typical mobilizing symptoms.

Hope you soon feel better. Best of luck ; )
