Re: Travelling to China - innoculations unavoidable- help

Traveled to India two summers ago for 5 weeks, had to get a battery of shots...sure was glad I did, as the prevalence of mosquitos are amazing, especially during the rainy season! I could just picture the germs hanging off them as they buzzed around me! Didn't have any reactions to the 4-5 shots I got...was warned that I might experience some fairly painful localized muscle soreness for the (I think) typhoid shot...I didn't notice anything though. Took prophlyactic malaria meds as well, nothing bad from them either, don't think your friend would have to take them for China, not sure though.

Picked up some minor diarrhea from a stomach bug while there, 24 hrs after eating meat at a restaurant....stupid. Went away after a day or 2. Other than that I survived fine...fresh (washed!) fruits and veggies, the food over there is actually very nutritious if they could understand the whole contamination thing. Good luck to your friend.

Edit: Sorry, I just saw the date on your post...whoops. How did it go?
