The best way to know for sure is to have a blood test done to get a white blood cell count. Usually Appendicitis is accompanied by a highly elevated white blood cell count as the body fights the infection. If the appendix ruptures and results in peritonitis you will be in serious trouble. My brother nearly died from peritonitis after the family decided to "wait and see". Frankly, I doubt if you do have appendicitis, although your appendix may be inflamed. Still, I suggest you get a blood test to be sure. It may be diverticulitis.
