The first time I tried eating an all raw diet, for 2 months I was getting a cold every 2 weeks. I was miserable! After 2 months of feeling so sick I decided to start adding some cooked foods.

After adding in some cooked foods and then gradually reducing them over a period of months I was comfortably able to get back on an all raw diet without getting sick.

When you take away all of the poisons that your body was dealing with day after day it finally gets a chance to do some much needed cleaning. When you are absoultly full of nothing but toxins and you keep putting them in, your body doesn't have any energy to make a big cleansing reaction.

It takes a HUGE effort for the body to create a fever and only a body that is strong enough can do it. The idea that only a weak immune system gets sick is wrong. Only a a stong immune system can create a fever. That's why drugs like advil work, if you put something as toxc as advil in your body it will put a burden on your immune system and your body will no longer have the energy to make a fever.

The body is using all the energy it has to clean you out. This is a good thing! Do not punish it, encourage it and thank it for all the effort it is making to clean you eat so you can be healthy!

You don't want to interrupt the effort your body is making. Getting sick while on a cleansing diet is a good sign that your body is doing it's job. And in the end you will find yourself feeling much better. Victoria Boutenko says in her book, 12 Steps To Raw Foods, that you should be worried if you don't get a cleansing reaction after starting a healing diet because it means your body is too weak to heal itself. I would recommed her book to you because it explains so well what happens to your body when you start eating well.

If you want to slow down the detoxification you can add in a little bit of grains or meat, just enough until you feel comfortable again. What ever you do, do not start eating junk!

After a few weeks to a few months of feeling better, you can slowly take them away and see how you feel.

It worked for me and I feel better than I ever have!
