there is no one "right" answer. my advice is to try different products and see which ones you like. this is how i do it. i drink kefir, it has different strains of probiotics than yogurt, and most probiotic supplements.
so i pour a bowl of kefir. to this i add some FOS, which is the food the probiotics feed on. then i add 5 or 6 capsules of a probiotic supplement that has 6 strains of probiotics in it. i add some black strap molasses (high in minerals) some bee pollen, mix it up and down the hatch. awesome!
