Re: Good Old-Fashioned Wrong Eating

“Yesterday, for breakfast, I drank a glass of wheat grass juice. For lunch, I ate some raw brown rice with raw garlic, parsley, Sea Salt around 3pm. I didn't eat again until around 10pm and instead of salad I decided to eat nuts and dried fruits. Specifically, I ate (all raw organic) pumpkin seeds, cashews, brazil nuts, dried figs, dried apricots, and a banana”

If wheat grass was to make you ill, you would have felt ill shortly after consuming it. Nothing you ate at dinner could have made you ill, that is assuming that you ate only a little garlic... Now, to eating at night… Firstly, it is simply not wise to eat after 8pm; your digestive fire is practically non-existent, plus, around 10pm is when the body begins serious detox - most notably the liver. Liver detox combined with your woeful combination of fats and dried fruits is inclined to disaster; and indeed nausea and insomnia are two prime symptoms. Nuts and seeds should not be eaten within six hours of retiring (ideally not before noon). If you are eating nuts late in the evening you are placing your pancreas under huge amounts of stress, and as mentioned previously, your detoxing liver will simply not be able to cope with such a huge amount of fat at such a late hour. The banana you ate would also stress the digestive system, and the dried fruits would be crushed under the vast amount of fat and protein and slowly begin to ferment and decay. Needless to say, this would also promote feelings of nausea and make for a restless and extremely uncomfortable night.

The diarrhoea and vomiting is your body’s last attempt to “deal with” the volatile mixture you forced upon it, and I would be glad that it is finally out. If I were you I would eat nothing until I felt I absolutely had to. Until then, you could drink lemon juice and maple syrup to sooth and settle your stomach somewhat; or of course the “alkalising” drink that Lapis outlined earlier.

So to summarise, I do not believe mould is in any way responsible. As with all health concerns it is simply a case of incorrect combinations of too much food, consumed at the very worst of times.

“They tasted slightly off, but were still yummy.”

Hah! You made me laugh…
