GREAT POST JMRN!! And here's even more 'Dew Yuck' BROMINE-Toxic Link in Mountain Dew,Gatoraid,AMP Energy Drink!

Wowee, that was a VERY informative post. I had no idea about the brominated vegetable oil (though I haven't touched a Mountain Dew in years, I used to love it!). Why in the WORLD do they need to put ANY kind of oil in soda-pop?

Anyway, you'll see in the ingredient list below, that Mountain Dew (like almost ALL citrus flavored sodas) contains both sodium benzoate AND citric acid /sodium citrate.
Guess what? (grrr) Sodium Benzoate (a preservative) mixed with any type of ascorbic acid = BENZENE (a highly toxic carncinogen).

This has been all OVER the wholistic news, because fruit soda pop (especially citrus flavored pop) almost ALWAYS contains sodium benzoate & ascorbic acid (in some form or another). Even the FDA (15 years ago) noted this.

>>>While scientists and doctors disagree on how hazardous benzene is to human health, the Environmental Protection Agency requires public notification and alternative water supply for drinking water contaminated with levels of 5 ppb. Even "relatively short periods" of exposure at that level can "potentially cause … temporary nervous system disorders, immune system Depression [and] anemia," according to the agency. A lifetime of exposure, says the EPA, can cause "chromosome aberrations [and] cancer."<<<

Be careful...it's a JUNGLE out there!!
