What's Hyaluronic Acid all about?

I've just been reading about Hyaluronic Acid - first in a forum, in connection with helping eye floaters to go away, and then much more on the various websites that sell it. According to the advertising this is the new cure-all for age related problems, and I half expected to find there was a forum on Curezone dedicated to it's use.

There wasn't, and it wouldn't be the first time a product was pumped up out of all proportion by advertising - but if anyone has first hand experience of Hyaluronic Acid I would be very interested to know if it can do half the things it is supposed to.
