Re: How shall we decide our daily diet?
I have struggled with many diet plans and diet ideals for years. I have tried to go vegetarian, vegan and raw and did well for a couple of months, then got very weak. I am blood type O, but do not have the appetite for all that meat.
My Naturopath suggested that instead of following a specific diet to go with rough percentages of the kind of foods I eat. His suggestion: 80% fruits and vegetables, both raw and cooked, 10% animal products, both meat and dairy, and 10% grains, this includes sugar. This works well for me, and since nothing is expressly forbidden I do not feel deprived. If I want pizza or a burger once in a while, its OK as long as I stick to the diet for other meals. Just a few days ago I read the ideal diet should be 80% alkalizing foods and 20% acid forming foods to keep the body in balance. Well, fruits and veggies are normally alkalizing, while meats, dairy and grains can be acid forming. Looks like doc. had it right all along.
