I am having all my fillings removed. The lazer treatment is actually for my gum disease, this is a treatment that gets rid of all the bacteria and then one doesn't do any deep cleaning for 6 months and the tissue is supposed to grow back. My dentist wanted to just do the lazer treatment first to see if the gum and bone would grow back before I went through the expense of having all the Amalgam taken only to to loose my teeth to gum disease. My argument was that the mercury is probably keeping my gums from healing in the first place, so he said ok let's go for it at the same time. So now I am scrambling for the best material to use in replacing the mercury. So no, the lazer is for the gums, he will be using proper protocol. Though I will be checking with him all the steps he will be taking before I go in. I am just learning the details. It is all so mind boggling especially with my less than excellent mental capacity ( I like to blame the mercury ). I need to take all of this step by step and do as much homework as possible. If I can't get all the info in time I will put off the treatment. Thank you for your reply (this one and the one before).
