interstitial cystitis

Does anyone know anything about Interstitial Cystitis? A friend of mine has this and controls it through her diet and I believe she also takes some kind of anti-depressant. Her doctors have not been able to help her at all. Controlling through diet she figured out on her own and the anti-depressant was suggested by someone else who has it. I don't like seeing her take a synthetic drug (especially those) to control this problem when it is only relieving symptoms and not helping to eliminate the problem. I have learned alot from Cure Zone about many things and I told her I would see what you wonderful people had to say about this! Thank you in advance for any responses.
