Help Anyone, Bob! Root canal tooth pulled, but still have anaerobic infection. Antibiotics not working.

I recently had a root canal tooth pulled. It was infected and giving me pain for nine months. Seven days after extraction I still have intense, deep pain in the socket bone. Zithromax, and now Cephalexin are not killing the infection. One last resort is Flagyl. Reading about its side effects it says, "Some laboratory animals developed cancer after taking Flagyl." I do not want to take it. Please help. What can I do to kill these anaerobic bacteria? Thank you!
