Agreed... doctors, for the most part, do not even listen to their patients to understand what it is that they are telling them. Not to mention that a symptom based system does not address a plethora of possible underlying causes.

Maybe that is why it is a symptom based system; easier to treat and guess at a prescription so that they can see more patients and make more money... you will be back when the script does not work at all or any longer. What a great turn around business!

When the symptoms get bad enough, and the prescription “cures” no longer work it is specialist and surgery time; cool more money for the docs… referrals, kickbacks, man I am in the wrong business.

Dangerous yes, but by generating fear in the population you have developed a built in money generator. Nothing produces opportunity for profit like fear.
