Even "mercury free" dentists work with mercury (by drilling it out of people) so all dentist offices will have mercury contamination to some extent. I believe "mercury free" dentistry really just means they don't install mercury. They still drill out old mercury fillings which leaves some in the office as vapor or particles. I would think if a dentist refused to deal with mercury at all, like even replacing mercury amalgams, he would have very few patients and soon go out of business.

I wouldn't worry about being exposed in this dentist's office. During the appointment to install one composite you will probably be exposed to more mercury from your own Amalgam fillings than from the office itself.

I wouldn't worry about being exposed in this dentist's office. You are probably getting more mercury from the Amalgams in your mouth than you could ever get from one appointment to install a composite. Tweet
