Re: Do you believe that Michael Schiavo is acting out of love and compassion?
I know that the activists protesting for Terri’s right to live mean no harm but unfortunately more harm is what they are causing. And the media, well they consider “the ends justify the means” to be words to live by.
Last Saturday Pinellas School officials decided to relocate Cross Bayou Elementary’s 600 children to other schools in the district. The reason? Protesters and media causing a ruckus right next door where Terri Schiavo is being treated.
Who cares though? None of those kids have to feed out of a tube, and they’re still capable of running and playing, right? Well try telling that to the distressed teachers, confused children, and angry parents. Most of whom would tell you where to stick it, and I would be inclined to agree with them if they did so.
So how do you think the family of Michael and Terri Schiavo feel about having their lives turned into an exhibit at the zoo? Or how Michael Schiavo feels about those death threats he has been receiving? Or how Terri Schiavo feels about this life or death thing?
The point is that no matter how much you experience in life or how much pain you feel you will never truly understand the pain of another human being. Whether that pain is seeing someone you love die, or trying to explain to a child why they won’t be able to see their school friends for awhile. The human mind is such a jumbled chaotic mess of emotions and neuroses, I mean why do you think scientists say that the mind is the ultimate computer? It has to be to sort out the data; I mean have you been reading what I typed? My computer is clearly working overtime and failing fast. Back to the point though, to assume you have an easy solution to another’s problem is foolish, no matter how that assumption is formed. To act upon that assumption goes from foolishness to sheer arrogance, that only leads to trouble.
