1. Actually this is probably the time when UT would be of lot of benefit. Alcohol makes you go to the bathroom often .... UT would automatically rebalance what you would otherwise lose.
I understand it is the liver that does the detoxification of alcohol, not the kidneys, so your urine would not be adversely affected in theory. I must try it some time! ((drinking in moderation, or better - not at all))

2. If you are detoxing heavy metals, I would probably lay off the UT. But for certainty, you should try to determine how the chelating agents you use, will pass the heavy metals.
