Intestinal tract not for food, but for detox?

Hi all! I'm wondering what you think about the theory that the intestinal tract is more of a detox system than an assimilation system, and we're polluting it by eating...even when it's the best of foods?

I can see how this can be correct...but my question is...what about teeth? These seem to be designed for eating...if the intestinal tract is a detox path, why do we have teeth?

I've always wondered about this...I find breatharianism very intriquing, and it makes sense to me...except for the teeth part...anyone have any ideas?
