I think if you will read the bible in Gen. 2:25 And they were both naked,the man and his wife,and were not ashamed.(notice they were already man and wife.GOD had already married them).Meaning that they were physical beings ,not spiritual beings.They could eat the fruit of all of the trees except that which is in the midst of the garden.Nowhere in the bible does it say that the fruit was an apple.
Hope this clears up some of the misunderstanding.
