In the law, silence is accorded the status of approval. Consequently, NOT writing this letter leaves this doctor open to malpractice accusations from your heirs after your passing. He has documented his objection, availability, and desire to act in your behalf. Thus, he has a legal foundation for a defense to malpractice, timely action and his medical objection.
Dont be 'freaked out', unless the letter is surprisingly, shockingly, divergent from the advice you actually recieved.
I support your decision to prusue true health, and I hope to read your good results. I do not believe you are terminal at the course of this cancer.
I would inform myself, establish a reasonable protocol, and pursue it diligently. I suggest you do the same.
