Re: On the other hand

Golfegg,

Because of the thick membrane wall of the colon, colon cancer is one of the most curable cancers in its early stage. Once it penetrates into the vascular network, it has direct access to the liver via the portal vein. At that point, it becomes one of the most deadly.

Please quit using "cut, burn, poison" label on me. I see no use in radiation whatsoever, and know of very few situations where chemo has any use at all.

Regarding the 40% issue, the assertion was that 40% of all cancers are carried to the grave undetected, not that 40% of all people will get cancer. Actually, 50% of men and 33% of women will get cancer. Certain slow cancers such as prostrate might be carried to the grave. The 40% claim is urban legend that has no basis in fact.

Note that you would have to use the same medical statistics to support that claim anyway. How is it that the published stats on cancer survival are bogus, but the unpublished stats (non-existant) on in-situ cancers are deemed reliable?
