I can empathize with some of your pain. I have been depressed for quite some time myself, although my life circumstances have not been as traumatic as yours.

You should seek out what alternatives are offered here, but it's also important that you should seek some professional help as well. It sounds like you've been through too much trauma for you to handle this on your own.

Maybe this will help you understand the need for professional help better. Imagine that when you were 15 years old you had broken your leg. You didn't go to the doctor, but just let it heal up on its own, and it healed up at a very funny angle. Now every time you take a step it hurts. That's what life is like for you now. You experience the pain everyday. You can see that if that had really happened the only way to ever get your leg right would be to go to the doctor and let them do surgery and allow the leg to heal normally. That's what its sort of like inside your head now. You had some traumas and some parts of your brain healed up funny (not in the physical sense but the psychological sense). Although supplements can help reduce the pain, nothing will fully heal you until you go see medical professionals who know how to put things back together right.

If you have a family doctor I suggest that you discuss this with him and get a referral to a psychiatrist and also for counseling. If you don't have the money there are public agencies that can assist you with mental health care.
