Should my son have a silver filling on a baby tooth?

Hi, my son went to get a cleaning yesterday and has a baby tooth that they say won't come out for 1 to 2 years and they said a silver filling would be fine on a baby tooth. I read curezone all the time but not this forum so I don't know and his appointment is at 1:30 pacific time today. So I need to know this is safe or not by then so please any feedback will be so so so appreciated! Thanks so much.
