Re: Advice for a friend
Anorexia has ramifications for years and years. It's a really tough challenge to overcome, especially if she used laxatives, had bulemia or did the whole binge and purge thing. I knew a girl who went thru all that and she was growing hair on her chest like mad, has to shave. She went to a large eating disorders support group regularly and found that that was a common problem, along with all the hormonal upsets and digestive troubles.
At the very least, she should add some good oils to her diet so as to start repairing tissues. Cod liver, olive, wheat germ, nutritional yeast, carrot juice with cream, the protein shake and probiotics will help her intestines and mucus membranes repair themselves without causing discomfort. At the very least, she should do that much!!! If she was anorexic for more than 2 years, then a great majority of her "hormonal issues" are actually severe nutritional deficiencies and her body's defenses against these deficiencies.
EmergenC and CalMagFizz will help with the temperature problem, which is all about lacking electrolytes. Garden of Life's Acid Defense would help her out here too. Anorexia and exercise/sweating robs us of our essential blood minerals, and without them nothing functions properly.
Hope that helps! :)
