Hi Ann/Boronia! I personally was told I had Gilberts Syndrome because I have permanently elevated bilirubin levels - which can be detected by the routine standard liver function tests performed by G.P.'s. Sometimes the doctors dont always tell you because it may only be a slight elevation that falls just below their "normal range". However it IS significant - especially when it comes to Chronic-Fatigue-Syndrome and Candida (which I have) - because from what I was told it impairs and reduces the livers detoxification capabilities by 30%!. Not good with Chronic-Fatigue-Syndrome and Candida! I do have yellowing eyes and fat digestion problems etc but find that bile stimulating foods and supplements do help. Maybe you could ask for a blood test? Hope that has helped Ann - Best of Luck!
