Re: Nursing mother and candida question
Hmmm... if you can get her some kefir grains, she can then turn the milk she is given into kefir herself and get plenty of acidophilus that way. All you need is one batch of starter, do one batch, and use a bit of that batch to create the next batch, and so on. You can do the same with yogurt starter too. Yogurt starter is even cheaper than kefir grains I think.
If she can get some spices cheap, like powdered ginger and cumin which are often sold in bags for cheap, fresh garlic, adding these to the rice will make the rice more healing and beneficial to her gut flora. Making it a rice pilaf with onions, cumin, whatever spicy things she can get her hands on, will be a huge help.
That and a large enema bag from Wal-mart for 7 bucks will be her very best investments in health. Keeping her colon clean with near-daily enemas will ensure that any die-off does not end up in mother's milk, and washing out the candida is more effective and much cheaper than taking anti-fungals.
Apple cider vinegar is also safe, effective and very cheap. Ginger tea would be good too. Fresh ginger root is very cheap, just a 1/2
inch slice of the root will make an excellent tea. Great for mothers especially, as are the "curiously strong mints." Peppermint and ginger cleanse the liver, which increases the power of digestion so she doesn't keep creating more yeast.
Hope that helps! :)
