Re: question about fish oil and dairy
Hi Shelley,
For the record, Dr. Sears does recommend one teaspoon per day if you are taking the oil. That is the dosage for healthy people. He only recommends taking higher dosages if you have serious health problems such as Alzheimer's, cancer, major pain/inflammation, neurological problems, etc. Everyone will need a different higher dosage as their problems vary. I personally am taking 4 gel caps per day, which is the equivalent of one teaspoon, the healthy dosage.
During the seminar I attended, he said that inflammation is impacted 90% by eicosanoids and that his fish oil will help to change that eicosaniod status. As this has been proven by several years of research trials at Harvard Medical School, I thought it would be good for me to at least try. It worked so well for me and totally eliminated my Mom's
Arthritis and joint pain, I told Katie she should at least give this a try. Katie is in so much pain and Dr. Sears said that pain is caused by inflammation due to too many eicosanoids in your system. She has tried everything else to no avail. I just hope this works for her. What does she have to lose at this point but her 24/7 pain!
You are correct about 3 tablespoons being too much for daily, habitual use. Besides that, it would cost a fortune to use that much on an ongoing basis!!
