SCD has been one of the best things I have ever done for my daughter. I would HIGHLY recommend you try the SCD -- it helped my daughter immeasurably in so many ways (age 10 Autistic) -- better behaviour, more alert, higher comprehension, and finally normal bowel movements!!!! Yahooooo. (No more foul smelly, soft, odd colored... and the red ring of inflammation and irritation around her anus is gone as are other yeast issues). We have been SCD for about 9 or 10 months and couldn't feel better about what I now feed my child vs. what she used to eat!
At first, SCD appeared to be rather daunting and more than I could do until I really thought about it and studied the food stages charts on www.pecanbread.com (click on food preparation) As parents, we say we'll do "anything" for our children and compared to what some parents do and go through, I felt changing our cooking/eating habits a little for SCD wasn't so hard after all. In addition to this forum on curezone, there is also wonderful support at pecanbread@yahoogroups -- lots of parents with SCD kids and some adults battling the same thing as your son. Hang in there!
