floating stools means the fat did not get digested. Several things can interrupt fat digestion. If you have fat with lots of fiber or fruit, they will push it thru the small intestine too fast or change the temperature enough so that the enzymes are de-activated.

If you don't have a lot of good bile released, then the fat doesn't get broken up into little pieces. If it doesn't get small enough, the digestive enzymes don't get to do their jobs in breaking it down further.

Sometiems there's a lack of digestive enzymes.

Sometimes the lymphs are clogged and overworked - some fats are absorbed right into the lymphs and if that gets missed, the stoosl float.
