It has been at least 24 years since... but my most "organic" experience was a face to face, eyes to eyes meeting with a coyote, running into each other around a large bush (I was on a two day overnight with just a sleeping bag and enough of water in the middle of high desert) we both exchanged pleasantries, apologized and went our separate ways.

THe high desert was where my wife and I wittnessed a shape shifter as well... do not tell many about that...
