acupuncture works for me. i first tried it when i was having one of those three days in bed feeling like i was going to die episodes. it helps cut down on cravings too.

i also agree with the poster who said you are brave. just to start to take control of your health is a very hard thing to do. please stay on the diet and when you get to college you can most likely modify it a little but keep track of how you are feeling. find the alcohol that has the least amount of Sugar in it (i think someone told me rum) and when you really feel the need try a little of that. if you stray from the diet don't beat yourself up just get back to it when you can.

i know the diet is hard. trust me i'm a vegetarian and when i started i was vegan. i could basically eat nothing. when i added eggs and dairy back into my diet they were a goddess send. i had to do a long-term modified diet and then do the strict diet in intervals. i swear by helios kefir.

you are under a lot of stress right now especially being a junior or senior in high school and looking towards college. take it easy and try some stress reducing exercises like walking or yoga.

i have had candida for 8 years but i didn't always know what it was. even though i have a handle on it now i will probably always consider that i have it (or at least that i have a tendancy towards it) and thus will always modify my diet when i can. the diet makes me feel good inside, it has also changed my outer looks for the better. i have great hair, skin, nails, and i'm still as skinny as i was in high school (i'm twice your age so that's pretty good :).

congratulations! you're doing something good for yourself. you are a brave young woman and i commend you.
