Re: candida and MERCURY BUT NOT FROM AMALGAM

Anne, thank you so much for responding. I have been reading through Andy Cutler's website and WOW, that is useful information indeed!!!! Again, thank you!!

But now I am soooo confused!!! His theories about mercury chelation go against most protocols and now I am not even sure if my doctor interpreted hair test and DMSA challenge test correctly, among other things Cutler says that DMSA challenge test is not safe, and I took a one 500mg DMSA tablet for the test! I am taking cilantro and chlorella, but now am not sure I am doing the right thing.

With all this information right now I am lost, I dont know what to do. I live in Spain, though I was diagnosed with candida and mercury some months ago in the USA where I was working and studying. Upon my return, in Spain no single doctor believes in systemic candidiasis unless you have AIDS or cancer, and when I told them about the mercury levels in my blood and urine and showed them the DMSA test result they said they couldn't help, knew nothing about it or looked at me as though I had been brainwashed by some freaky doctor in the States. I did take my DMSA challenge test after my doctor did a blood test and mercury levels showed very high, so they couldnt have been high due to the DMSA since the blood test was done before. (I have 27 mg/g in the DMSA challenge test; I took one 500 mg DMSA collecting the urine over a period of 12 hours. The reference range of Doctor's Data labs for mercury is 4 or less. I also have arsenic four times higher the reference range).

I am very worried, because Cutler says that it may take up to 5 years to detoxify, and I am 31 and would love to have babies.

Anne, are you chelating under Cutler's supervision or on your own?
Do you know if there are other doctors in Europe (England would be my cheapest option from Spain) who follow his guidelines?
I am afraid of ending up with a doctor who might not follow the right protocol, and from what I have read in Cutler's website and from my own experience so far this is pretty easy.

My concern now is to find a doctor who can interpret a hair test to know if indeed mercury is my problem. I definitely have many of the mercury related symptoms.

Sorry for this long email and for being so self-centered, but by explaining this maybe someone knowledgable can help me.

Again, thank you

Alicia
