Re: candida and MERCURY BUT NOT FROM AMALGAM
Hi,
Another major source of mercury is thimerosal ie mercury which is in vaccines eg hepatitis B and various medical solutions. Regardless though, with your high levels you need to seriously consider chelation. Best to put off having babies for the time being and concentrate on bringing your mercury levels down as it can cross the placenta and put a baby at risk.
A high reading on a blood test means you are have either had a recent exposure (eg the DMSA challenge if done before the blood test? DMSA challenges are bad news as they stir up too much mercury without actually excreting it and so exacerbating any symptoms you have), OR an ongoing exposure which you need to address eg avoiding fish as you mentioned.
I'm following the Andy Cutler protocol (his website is
http://www.noamalgam.com). It basically involves taking a chelator, alpha lipoic acid (ALA) either on its own or with another chelator...DMSA or DMPS at FREQUENT intervals. You take them at very low doses.
You will need to read more about this first. More info here....

Visit these forums/groups for advice and support on following his protocol and help with properly interpreting hair tests (eg the relation between mineral levels and toxic metal levels)...

Hair loss can be due to thyroid weakness (due to mercury toxicity), and also iron deficiency.
I hope this helps,
