I think it all depends on how ill you are. For a while, just the smell of the gym pool used to make me nearly gag ( of course, those gyms put a TON of chlorine in there! ). I seem to recall a few things I read somewhere about what you can do to keep the skin absorption to a minimum when you swim. I think one was to coat your skin in sesame seed oil? Another which seems a little less helpful is to simply wet yourself down really well before going in ( maybe the shower tap water has less chlorine?? )
I understand how these things go and sometimes and we have to weigh the pros and cons. Personally, I would LOVE to have the energy to be able to swim ( if I knew how LOL ) so I would probably go ahead. I myself am on a very fixed income and cannot aford any fancy shower filters or reverse osmosis gizmos under my sink- I just put a PUR filter on there for 20 dollars and there ya go! I think we can get bizerk with these things and it can get to the point where it's counter productive-your mind is a powerful force.
