intestinal vs. systemic candida???
how do you know if candida has spread throughout your whole body or just in your digestive tract? i actually read on one site that it never leaves the digestive tract and that it is only the toxins released by candida that travel through the blood. it said that there really isn't such a thing as "systemic" candida - please check out this link:

was wondering what people's thoughts were on this. and if you do believe that the yeast itself grows systemically, how do you know if it is systemic or not?
the reason i ask is because i am pretty positive i have candida - i was on
Antibiotics for a year and a half and got very sick two weeks after stopping and haven't been normal since. but i don't get skin rashes or oral thrush or vaginal infections. i think i may have had a mild case of vulva vaginal yeast a few times but nothing major. but i was having all kinds of sharp pains all over my body, pressure in my head, horrible headaches, visual disturbances, cracking joints from head to toe, dry eyes and eye pain, insomnia, anxiety, depression...the list goes on and on. i got on the diet and am doing sooooo much better. the local health food store guy told me he thought my candida was in the digestive tract only since i did not get all sorts of skin rashes and yeast infections and that the toxins released into my blood could be causing all of the problems. he definitely believes in it "systemic" candida because he has been battling it his whole life...but he suggested i may possibly only have it in the intestines.
i guess it just gave me a little bit of hope that i may not have it as bad as i thought so i wanted to hear some opinions. within two to three weeks on the diet, the majority of my symptoms have disappeared or are otherwise much milder than before and much less often - almost a miracle compared to how i was about 6 weeks ago.
any thoughts??? THANKS!
